Piyush Singla reviews online Revenue services

Secretary, Revenue, Dr. Piyush Singla, today convened a review meeting with Tehsildars regarding online services of the department.

As a major initiative towards ensuring good governance and ease of convenience to the citizens, the department is providing 29 online services including Fard, Mutation, Land Pass Book, CLU, Property Card, Extract of Jamabandi/Girdawri, Domicile Certificate, Registration of documents and others through https://web.umang.gov.in/landing/services, https://jansugam.jk.gov.in/ and https://jkrevenue.nic.in/ and most of these services are covered under PSGA, 2011.

Reviewing progress on online services, Dr. Singla viewed end to end process of the services being provided by the department. He expressed satisfaction on the mechanism put in place by the IT department, J&K and NIC, J&K on this account.

During the meeting, Tehsildars shared their feedback on successful implementation of the IT initiatives in the department and also flagged the issues being faced at the ground level besides suggesting certain remedial measures.

Dr Singla assured that the issues raised shall be addressed in a phased manner in consultation with the IT, Department and NIC.

He said that the feedback given by the field officers shall definitely help in further streamlining the public delivery system. He asked the IT and NIC to prepare modules for bringing the still offline services on online mode in the shortest possible time.

Dr. Singla exhorted upon the revenue officer especially Tehsildars to dispose off all the applications within the PSGA timelines. He also asked them to extend handholding to the citizens by organizing camps in villages, Panchayats and Khidmat Centres encouraging them to avail all services through online mode without any physical interface with the revenue offices.

Among others the meeting was attended by Shabaz Mirza, Special Secretary Revenue, M Malik, Additional Secretary Revenue, Muzammal Hassan Choudhary, Under Secretary Revenue, Baiju Ubbot, Senior Scientist NIC and Umar Gulzar, Tehsildar Anantnag, Uttam Palsar, Tehsildar Majalta, Kapil Kant, Tehsildar Sunderbani, and Kamalpreet Singh Tehsildar, Jammu Khas.

Jammu: A house located in Ghagwal area of Samba has been burgled in broad day light on Wednesday, the thieves made off gold jewellery worth of lakhs that was kept in the almirah of the house.

The report said that the theft occurred when family members was away from the house and then the burglars broke into the residence and stole jewellery worth lakhs.

“I returned in the evening in my house, our main gate was closed and the robbers had made their way into our house by climbing this wall”, Owner of the house said.

“When I entered in my residence I saw our locks broken, they have broken the locks of our almirah and escaped with our gold jewellery worth 10-12 lakhs approximately”, he added.

“The Police and SHO came here and they have examined my residence for the clues”, he said.

The Ghagwal Police and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also reached the crime scene to take clues of theft, the report said.

A probe has been set into motion regarding the case.

Woman falls into drain while capturing bride & groom; watch viral video

Be it desi or abroad, weddings are always the kind of event where embarrassing videos are bound to exist. Be it the dancing uncles or the over-excited friends of the bride and groom, the videos capture different sides of the occasion. However, some of those videos are quite painful to look at.

Just like this video of a woman who accidentally toppled backwards and fell into a drain while trying to take a picture of the bride and groom. While it is not clear where the video was shot, it was quite evident that it was not a desi wedding.

The video shows the woman recording the bride and groom on her phone. But after some time, she accidentally steps backwards and falls in the drain. The people present around can be seen promptly pulling her out of the muddy water.

Army Pays Tribute To Soldier Martyred In Awantipora Gun Battle

The Army on Wednesday paid tributes to Sepoy Pawan Kumar who was martyred during an encounter at Padgampora village in Awantipora sub district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday in which two local militants were shot dead.

The two militants were accused of killing a Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Kumar in Pulwama on Sunday morning.

Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to Sepoy Kumar, Army said.

Sepoy Kumar of 55 Rashtriya Rifles and part of the operational team that led from the front, in a sheer act of bravery he overpowered the first militant in a hand to hand combat and was grievously injured. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries, making the supreme sacrifice in the highest traditions of the Indian Army, they said

Kumar, 26, had joined the Army in 2014 and hailed from village Pithyt, Rampur Shimla of Himachal Pradesh. He is survived by his mother.

Film maker Karan Johar to shoot in J&K

After a hiatus of seven years, film maker Karan Johar is all set to shoot the last pending romantic song of his movie Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, in the snow clad mountains of Kashmir.

Directed by Karan Johar, the epic love story stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles.

As per the latest buzz, the song will be a tribute to the late film maker Yash Chopra, who Karan idolizes.

Ranveer and Alia will recreate the looks of Sridevi and Rishi Kappor from the film Chandini directed by ace director Yash Chopra in late 1980’s. Alia will be seen donning chiffon sarees while Ranveer for a change will be in the formal attire.

The romantic song will be shot in Kashmir in a ten-day schedule beginning on March 1. The crew has already left for Kashmir while Karan will leave for the valley with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt on February 28 and join the crew.

Karan Johar wanted to film the song in Switzerland but after Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy he moved it to Kashmir as the film maker believes that snow has same feel in Kashmir as it has in Switzerland.

Alia will be accompanied by her baby Raha for the ten-day shooting schedule.

With this song in Kashmir, the entire shooting of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, a tribute to Karan’s favourite director Yash Chopra, will be complete.

Jammu: 
Scores of Patwaris on Wednesday held a sit-in protest in Jammu for their demands.

Several protestors were seen shouting slogans and expressing their demands, while the protest was organized under the aegis of All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association.

One of the protestors, said, “When we joined as Patwaris in the dept our grade pay was increased to Rs 2800 but later it was reduce to Rs 2400 again by a govt memorandum”.

 

“We demand our grade pay to be increased at par with govt teachers. In March 2022, Commissioner Secretary Revenue (CSR) sir held a meeting and assured that within one month our issues will be solved, but nothing has been done in this regard for us till now”, he added.

“Patwaris work day and night but we have govt accommodation in the Patwar Khanas. In 1970-72, Patwaris had 5-10 villages under them, but now our population is much higher, that’s why we need establishment of Patwari Halqas as soon as possible”, he asserted.

“The landlord as well as villagers will avail our facilities easily if govt establish Patwar Khanas soon for us, the Girdawars have entire tehsils in their authority and posts of Girdawars should be advertise soon by govt”, he said.

“Our salary allowance should be hiked and Departmental Promotion Committees (DCP) should be conducted timely along with that the harassment of Patwaris should be stopped and we should not be overburdened with work, people also try to beat us”, he alleged.

“We also demand digitization of ‘Masnavi’ (land records) so that the records can be saved from breaking into pieces”, he further said.

“We also demand postings of girdawars and patwaris on timely basis, this is our indefinite strike”, he said.

J&K Police Cop’s weapon goes off accidentally after hit by vehicle

A cop’s rifle went off accidentally after he was hit by an unknown car in the Batmaloo area of Srinagar on Wednesday, officials said.

An official said that a speeding vehicle without number plate hit & injured a PSO of a traffic officer on duty, resulting in accidental discharge of PSO’s weapon.

He said there was no damage or injury caused to anyone due to the discharge of the weapon.

“Case (has been) registered in Batmaloo PS against rash & negligent driving,” said a Traffic police official.

Well-Planned Cities Will Determine Fate Of Country: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that well-panned Indian cities will determine the fate of the country.

Addressing a post-Budget webinar on ‘Urban Planning, Development and Sanitation’, he said with India urbanising rapidly, it is important to build infrastructure that is futuristic.
“The well-planned cities of India will only determine the fate of India. When planning is better, our cities will become climate resilient and water secure,” the prime minister said.

He also listed three focus areas for urban planning and development – How to strengthen urban planning ecosystem in states, how to better utilise expertise available in private sector for urban planning and how to develop such Centres of Excellence which take urban planning to the new level.

The government has organised a series of post-budget webinars to seek ideas and suggestions for the effective implementation of the initiatives announced in the Union Budget 2023.

Jammu: Jammu police yesterday arrested two drug peddlers from R.S Pura and seized 200 grams of drugs from their possession.

As per the report, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Zahir Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh laid a special naka at Kirpind village in R.S Pura and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK02CM7902 which was coming from Kotli.

During checking, police team recovered 200 grams of drugs from the possession of the two persons and arrested them. The arrested persons have been identified as Sharad Khajuria s/o Harish Khajuria resident of Roop Nagar, Jammu and Kanav Gupta s/o Dharamveer Gupta resident of Lane no.2, New Plot, Jammu.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS act in Miran Sahib police station.

Further investigation of the case is still going on.

56 new sports stadiums to come up in J&K

The administration in Jammu and Kashmir plans to construct as many as 56 sports stadiums and centers in districts to tap sports potential of the youth from the region.

Barring three districts, three sports stadiums/centers will be constructed in all the remaining districts in which UT-level competitions can also be held.

The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council has issued notification for the construction of a sports ground under Khelwandia District Level Centers under Sports Authority of India vide 70/KI/SKIC-Slamall-J&K/2020-21 Maharhra 08 February 2023.

Stadiums for football, hockey and gymnastics will be constructed in the Srinagar district. Cycling, Wushu and Kabaddi in Budgam, Badminton, Volleyball and Thang Ta in Ganderbal, Hockey, Football and Boxing in Bandipora, Badminton, Table Tennis and Hockey in Baramulla, Volleyball, Khokho in Anantnag, Kabaddi and Volleyball in Kulgam. Wrestling, Hockey, Table Tennis and Skating in Pulwama, Volleyball and Taekwondo in Shopian, and Football, Khokhu and Kabaddi in Kupwara.

Similarly, soft tennis, table tennis and hockey in the Jammu district, volleyball, wrestling and boxing in Samba, football and rowing in Kathua, table tennis, handball and basketball in Udhampur, and gymnastics in Reasi, Yoga, Archery, Table Tennis in Doda, Athletes, Volleyball and Thug Ta in Kishtwar, Football and Kabaddi in Ramban, Table Tennis and Wrestling in Rajouri and Football, Badminton and Volleyball in Poonch. A football ground is being constructed in Charlan Fazalabad.

The administration has invited applications from eligible athletes to be posted as Coach,/Mentor /Champion Athletics for the said Sports Stadium.

First preference will be given to those players who have represented India and are recognized by the National Sports Federation of India (NSF) in the respective sports, second preference will be given to those who have won medals in Senior National Championships or have won medals in Khelo India competitions, an official said.

The third preference will be given to the medal winner in the All India University Championship and the fourth preference will be given to the players representing the state in the Senior National Championship who are recognized by NSF and have participated in the Khelo India Games.
