Jammu: In a tragic incident, a 48-year-old man who met with road accident on February 21 in the night in Industrial Area Phase -2 of Samba succumbed to injuries in DMC Hospital in Ludhiana Punjab, yesterday.

As per report, the incident took place in Samba’s industrial area on February 21, when the victim was going on his bike and got hit by a speeding Bolero car, which left him badly injured there.

After the incident the deceased laid injured on the road for a long time and was rushed to the District Hospital Samba when some locals and police saw him lying wounded on the road.

Later, the victim was referred to GMC Jammu, but when his condition further deteriorated he was shifted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana, Punjab, where he succumbed to his wounds, the report said.

The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar (48) resident of ward no.11 of Samba in Jammu.

He is survived by his wife and two kids.

The victim used to earn his livelihood by serving tea in the industrial Area Phase -2 of Samba, the report said.

The offending vehicle, a Bolero Car, which hit the deceased is still on the run and police is looking for the driver.

The Samba police has initiated a probe into this matter.
