Terrorists killed in gunfight in Jammu-Kashmir

The Jammu & Kashmir police on Friday claimed that they have killed five terrorists in the ongoing encounter which has entered its second day at Samnoo village of Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
As per sources, a join team of J&K Police, security forces and CRPF got information about the presence of terrorists in Samnoo village of Kulgam and when the personnel reached at the spot, the concealed terrorists opened fire at the security forces and an encounter started.
However, the police today has asserted that five terrorists have been killed in the joint operation and the search operation is still in progress while the identity of the terrorists and their terror organisations are yet to be known. The whole area is being sanitized and the operation which was started yesterday is reaching its final stage.

“Kulgam Update – Day 2: Five #terrorists neutralized by Kulgam Police, Army, and CRPF. #Incriminating materials recovered. #Operation in final stage; area being sanitized”, Kashmir Police Zone later informed on ‘X’.
“Yesterday in the afternoon we got inputs of movement of some terrorists in Samnoo village and we went there and searched the houses.
“During the search operation a terrorist opened fire at us from a house and thus a gunfight began. The operation is in its final stage and the terrorists might be from LeT. The area is being sanitized. One of our security personnel has suffered minor injuries which is not fatal in nature. After the completion of sanitization we will apprise media the identity of the terrorists”, IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi told media.
