Police apprehended bovine smuggler in Jammu

 Jammu: The Samba police yesterday foiled a smuggling bid and apprehended a bovine smuggler and freed bovine animals and seized one vehicle.

The nabbed cattle smuggler was identified as Jaqoob Ali s/o Alim Din r/o Madhera tehsil of district Samba.

A case FIR No.271/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Goran and a probe is on.

The bovine smuggling bid was made unsuccessful  by police team headed by Incharge Police Post Goran PSI Sajid Jaral under the supervision of SHO Police Station Samba Daljit Singh, DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

“A total of 95 bovine smugglers have been nabbed by Samba Police in past 10 months while seventy seven (77) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers. However, 66 vehicles used for bovine peddling have been seized and 755 bovine animals have been freed from the possession of the accused in Samba.
