Traffic police conducts big checking drive in Jammu

Jammu: In the wake of Doda road mishap which claimed 39 lives and wounded 17 people at Assar area of Doda on November 15. The J&K police along with Traffic Police Jammu conducted vehicle checking drive near Jammu bus stand on Friday.
The police personnel along with traffic cops inspected vehicles commuting on the bus stand route and asked the transporters to adhere to the traffic rules and carry valid vehicular documents.

The violators were seen getting fined and checked by the traffic and police officials on the mentioned spot.
To keep a check on rash driving, the district administration is conducting special vehicle checking drives in various parts of Jammu.
“The objective of our today’s drive is visible violation drive which consists checking of helmets, mobile, seat belts, minor drivers.
“I want to advise local people to not use phones while driving, ensure wearing seat belts and one more thing I want to tell people to avoid going in an overloaded vehicle for your own safety.
“We take action against those who commit traffic offences. I want people to take security measures while driving for their own protection”, said Farah Nishat, DySP Traffic City North Jammu.
