In a shocking turn of events, a woman was allegedly forced to drink acid by her husband and in-laws for not able to give birth to a male child in Guwahati, Assam yesterday.
According to the neighbours, the woman was subjected to this heinous act by her husband and her in-laws for failing to give birth to a boy.

Following the incident, the accused husband identified as Shakeel Ahmed, was taken into police custody.
The victim was immediately taken to nearby hospital, however she succumbed to her injuries during the treatment.
