Lt Governor pays obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine

Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum.

The Lt Governor accompanied by Mahamandleshwar Shri Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj and other board members prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness for all.

The Lt Governor, during his visit, inaugurated Tripti Bhojanalaya and Prasad Kendra cum Souvenir Shop at the holy shrine.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is fully devoted to provide better facilities to the pilgrims during their pilgrimage to holy shrine, observed the Lt Governor.

In the last 3 years, we have developed new infrastructure and several new initiatives like RFID, CCTV, new Registration Counter were started for hassle-free pilgrimage, he added.

The upcoming Durga Bhawan & Skywalk, and the recently approved integrated digital solution will make this spiritual journey more convenient, organized and memorable for the devotees, the Lt Governor further added.

The Lt Governor, who is also the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), took first-hand appraisal of the progress of the ongoing construction work of Durga Bhawan and other facilities.

SMVDSB has decided to develop Shankaracharya temple near Katra. Durga Bhawan will be dedicated to devotees before Navratri festival this year. It will provide accommodation to 3000 pilgrims per day near Bhawan, the Lt Governor said.

Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Sh Anshul Garg briefed the Lt Governor about ongoing projects and the efforts of the board for upgrading and expanding the facilities for the pilgrims.

Jammu And Kashmir National Panthers Party office in Jammu was sealed by the authorities today.

Earlier, on 16 Feb, Senior AAP leader Harsh Dev Singh resigned as the chairman of its Jammu and Kashmir unit and quit the party’s primary membership, citing personal reasons.

Singh had joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi on May 7, 2022 in the presence of senior party leaders. He was the chairman of the J-K National Panthers Party before that.

                 Major Accident: Drunk driver hits several cars in Jammu

Jammu: A car flipped several times in air and several other damaged after they were hit by a drunk driver near Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women, Jammu yesterday night.

As per report, the incident happened when a Verna car bearing registration number HR29AE4266 hit a alto car bearing registration number PB35M1191 and tossed it in the air, and rammed another car, when it was trying to save a two-wheeler on the road.

“The verna car driver is responsible for this mishap, he hit a alto car and which flipped three times in the air and it was also dragged on the road here for over 100mtrs”,an eyewitness of the incident said.

“The driver was driving recklessly and in order to save a two-wheeler he hit alto car, the alto car’s driver was bleeding & we rushed him to GMC, Jammu”, he added.

“He also hit a Ciaz car here”, he further said.

“I was driving the car and then a another car hit us and tossed us in the air, my car flipped 4-5 times here and only god knows how I’m alive”, Victim of the accident said.

“He came from wrong side of the road and he might have killed us, the locals saved us otherwise we would have lost our lives”, he added.

“The verna car driver attacked us when we went to check him after the mishap, he began beating us and also snatched our gold chains, he grabbed my neck and I fell down”, another eyewitness of the accident said.

“There was another man who was with him who attacked”, he added.

“I am okay but my friend is injured”, Victim of the accident said.

“They came from Nai Basti after attending a function”, a relative of the victim said.

 

Love Over Online Ludo Game Lands Man In Jail

Nineteen-year-old Pakistani girl Iqra Jeewani who fell in love with Indian boy Mulayam Singh while playing Ludo Game online and came all the way to India via Kathmandu to marry him and even chose to stay illegally in Bengaluru was eventually held by police and repatriated to Pakistan on Sunday from Attari land border.

According to sources, Iqra,while playing Ludo on an online App fell so much obsessed with twenty-six years old Mulayam Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh who had been living in Bengaluru for the past several years that she decided to tie the nuptial knot with him.

“Iqra had a problem in getting a visa so she was advised, presumably by Mulayam, to first go to Nepal and then illegally enter India via the Sanoli border,” said sources.

On September 19, Iqra landed at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport where she was received by Mulayam. Both of them married in Kathmandu and stayed for about a week before entering India via Sanoli Indo-Nepal border and went to Bengaluru where Iqra started staying under a forged Hindu name Rava.

The neighbours of Mulayam got suspicious when they saw a Hindu girl offering namaz in his house and informed the police which raided Mulayam’s house and recovered Iqra and her Pakistani passport.

Iqra was arrested by Bengaluru police and brought to Amritsar for repatriation to Pakistan via Attari land border.

 

J&K: Youth dies in road accident

A youth was killed after a vehicle he was travelling in met with an accident at Shamsipora railway crossing along Jammu-Srinagar national highway in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, an official said.

An official said that a person identified as Aqib Mehmood Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Bankoot Banihal who was traveling in his own vehicle (JK06-2337) from Srinagar towards Jammu met with an accident at Shamsipora railway crossing last evening.

He was shifted to district hospital Anantnag for treatment in critical condition, however, he was declared brought dead by the doctors, he said.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.

Jammu: A car caught fire on Jammu-Srinagar National highway on Monday morning.

As per sources, a Duster car which was coming from Anantnag to Jammu caught fire on the Jammu-Srinagar National highway, when oil leaked from it.

The driver of the vehicle along with the passengers escaped in time and nobody was injured.

“We are four people who were in this car then oil began to leak from it and suddenly it caught fire due to spark, smoke was also coming from it”, Driver of the car said.

“We left the vehicle & came out with our goods, we tried to douse the blaze, but we didn’t found water anywhere”, he added.

“There was not enough water to control the flames that’s why the car caught fire and burned”, he said.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kashmir Police is carrying out searches at two places in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Monday.

Quoting a police officer, that the searches are carried out in connection with a case under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Violence erupts as 2 groups fight over Rs 5 at Vegetable Market

A violent fight broke out at a vegetable market in Agra’s Etmadpur on Sunday evening.

According to media reports, an argument over Rs. 5 turned violent when two groups started a physical brawl on a busy road.

In the video, miscreants can be seen beating each other with sticks. A case has been registered and UP police are searching for the offenders.

Weather was cloudy in Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours. However, the MeT office said on Monday that light rain/thundershowers are likely during the next 24 hours.

“Light rain/thundershowers are likely in J&K during the next 24 hours,” an official of the MeT department said.

Srinagar had 5.3, Pahalgam 1.7 and Gulmarg 0.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature today.

A former sarpanch from Gujarat’s Mehsana district was seen showering bundles of high-value currency notes from the top of his residence at his nephew’s wedding in a video which is fast getting viral on social media platforms. In the viral video, which is being widely shared on Twitter, the former sarpanch can be seen showering currency notes worth several lakhs from the top of his house during the wedding event in the Kekri tehsil.

The man has been identified as Karim Yadav – the ex-sarpanch of Agol village. In the video, Karim Yadav can be seen showering Rs 500 currency notes as the wedding procession of his nephew Razak passes through the streets.
