Jammu:
Three  Khair-wood  smugglers from Sumb area of Samba in Jammu, who were inspired after watching the movie ‘Pushpa’, tried to smuggle Khair-wood in true movie style. Allu Arjun-starrer Telugu movie Pushpa’s dialogues and songs became so much famous when it was released, the people along with celebrities across fields began to imitate its dialouges and song sequences in the whole country.

According to the report, three thieves  from Sumb area of Samba, who were inspired by the tricks of the movie tried to replicate the same trick, while smuggling the green gold in the form of  ‘Khair trees’ in real life, yesterday.

The burglars used  to cut the trees in the dead of the night  in the aforementioned place and used to smuggle them, this has been going from a while. But, yesterday the Samba police nabbed the three culprits and put them behind bars.

Three smugglers have been identified as Anil Kumar s/o Ramesh Chand r/o village Nanetar, Samba, Balraj Singh s/o Krishan Singh r/o village Markoli, Samba, Kamal Singh s/o Chan Singh, Sumb, Samba.

The police is currently interrogating the accused persons to ascertain the chances whether a whole gang involved in this matter or not, the report said.

A 38-year-old man tried to end his life after killing his wife and two sons, including a four-month-old infant, over financial issues in west Delhi’s Mohan Garden area on Sunday, police said.

They said the incident was reported from Vipin Garden. The man, identified as Rajesh (38), allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife and two sons aged five years and four months.

After killing his wife and sons, Rajesh inflicted a deep injury on his wrist, police said, adding that he is under treatment in a hospital.

The accused had sent messages to his friends in the early hours of Sunday about his financial woes. His friends alerted his brother, who informed the police around 6 am, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan said.

Jammu: :The Vijaypur police yesterday arrested four accused, who were allegedly robbing people, while threatening them at gunpoint with Desi Katta (Country made pistol) and sharp edge weapons such as machete in Vijaypur area of Samba, Jammu from some days.

As per report, the accused were involved in threatening people with their sharp weapons and used to shot fires in the air with their desi kattas ( country made pistol) to scare and threaten locals of Vijaypur to loot them and were apprehended by the police in a raid.

The accused have been identified as Rohit Kumar s/o Gopal Krishan r/o Vijaypur, Samba, Sunil Sharma s/o Babu Ram r/o Vijaypur, Samba, Rajbir Gill s/o  Yashbir Gill r/o  Gurha Morh, Vijaypur, Samba, Ankush Sharma s/o Kamal Kishore Sharma r/o Vijaypur.

Terrorists shot dead a minority Community member in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Officials said on Sunday.

In a tweet, Kashmir Zone Police wrote, Terrorists fired upon one civilian from minority namely Sanjay Sharma S/O Kashinath Sharma R/O Achan Pulwama while on way to local market. He was shifted to hospital however, he succumbed to injuries. He was Armed guard in his village. Area cordoned off. Details shall follow.”

Srinagar had 7.3, Pahalgam 3.2 and Gulmarg minus 1.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature today.

In Ladakh region, Drass town had minus 10.1, Kargil minus 8.2 and Leh minus 6.6 as the minimum temperature.

Jammu had 12.5, Katra 13.1, Batote 9, Banihal 7.4 and Bhaderwah 5.5 as the minimum temperature.

Ankit Gupta appointed as Social Media Head of BJP’s J&K unit for the second term

J&K unit appointed Ankit Gupta as Social media incharge of JKUT for the second consecutive term. The announcement to this effect was made by party J&K UT president, Ravinder Raina here, today.

Ankit Gupta who hails from Jammu, has been involved with the party’s social media cell in various capacities earlier. As the Incharge he has been handling the Social Media department since 2021. He managed the working of the Call Center of the party which was functional during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 in J&K.

BJP has been the frontrunner in using social media as a major platform to get the party’s ideology across to the masses. Gupta said that he will work hard towards strengthening the party’s work by promoting various aspects on social media.

He thanked party high command including Party President Ravinder Raina and General Secretary Org. Ashok Koul for entrusting him with the responsibility.

8-month-old killed, 14 injured after car rams into crowd during religious event

In a distressing incident, a car was driven into a crowd of devotees, killing an 8-month-old child, and injuring at least 14 people.

The incident occurred in Mudia village in Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, during a Bhagwat Katha event.

Police said that a man named Rajnish was driving the car. He was allegedly drunk, and didn’t realise that the car was running, before he rammed into the crowd, police said.

Jammu: Police seizes 20 bikers performing stunts

In a bid to curb stunt biking menace and save the precious lives, Kishtwar Police seized  20 stunt bikes on which dangerous stunts were being performed scaring other road-users.

Some of the seized bikers were seen riding their bikes with just the back wheel on the grounds and performing other dangerous stunts, scaring other road users.

On the direction SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal a special team was constituted headed by Inspector Abid Bukhari, SHO PS Kishtwar which nabbed 20 stunt bikers  and seized their bikes and arrested one Gazanfar Nawaz son of Shahnawaz Mir  resident of Tanta Malanoo Thatri Doda who recently met with an accident at Malipath while performing stunts and had manage to flee from the spot.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 30/2023 under relevant sections of law and investigation was registereed and some bikes were seized under relevant sections of MV Act at PS Kishtwar.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-also appealed such parents who let their underage children to drive  scooties/ motorcycles etc to refrain from such negligent acts. He further said that the drive will continue till the violators get channelized to follow the traffic rules.
Moreover, Kishtwar Police strictly warned the misguided youths not to engage in such life threatening acts like bike stunts which can cause risk to their lives as well as the commuters.

JK Police promotes Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Head constables to next ranks

 The Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has issued promotion orders in respect 15 Assistant Sub-Inspectors of J&K Police Executive Cadre and four head constables of J&K Police Ministerial Executive Cadre to the next rank under different orders. In-situ promotion in favour of four Sub-Inspectors of J&K Police Ministerial Executive Cadre was also sanctioned.

As recommended by the Departmental Promotion Committee and after thorough scrutiny of the service records, promotion in respect of 15 Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Jammu and Kashmir Police Executive Cadre to the rank of Sub-Inspectors and four Head Constables of Jammu and Kashmir Police Ministerial Executive Cadre has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (M) vide two different orders of PHQ J&K. The Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has congratulated the promoted officers & their families and hoped that the officers would continue to work with zeal and zest.

Five held with Rs 2.15 crore in fake currency in Jammu

Five people, including a former militant, were arrested with fake currency notes of face value of Rs 2.15 crore here, a police official said.

Three cheque books and Rs 5 lakh were also seized from the five men — four from Kashmir and one from Delhi — when their vehicle after a tip-off was intercepted from the Bathindi area on the city’s outskirts, the official said.

He identified the arrested people as Nazir Ahmad and Manzoor Ahmad of Srinagar, Riyaz Ahmad of Pulwama, Basit of Shopian and Mohd Naimullah of Dwarka in Delhi.

“Nazir was in Tihar jail for six years in a militancy related case and had he came in contact with Naimullah there,” the official said.

He said the Bahu Fort police station received information about some persons carrying “low quality Indian currency notes to use the same for illegal purposes”.

Police teams stopped a vehicle and apprehended the five suspects and made the seizure, the official said, adding a case was registered and further investigation is underway.
