                    Check Fresh Weather Report of J&K for Next 24hrs

Weatherman on Sunday forecast mainly dry weather over Kashmir division and very light rain and thunders at one or two places over Jammu division in next 24 hours.

Quoting a meteorological department official, a local news reported that mainly dry weather was expected for subsequent two days and “fairly widespread” rains from March 30-April 1.

In last 24 hours till 0830 hours today, he said, Srinagar received 4.1mm of rain, Qazigund 6.4mm, Pahalgam 2.1mm, Kupwara 1.8mm, Kokernag 6.3mm, Jammu 12.8mm, Banihal 18.8mm, Batote 13.4mm, Katra 7.8mm, Bhaderwah 21.4mm and Kathua 7.0. Gulmarg received 3.8 cms of fresh snowfall during the time, the official said.

Regarding temperature, the MeT official said, Srinagar recorded a low of 5.7°C against 5.°C on the previous night and it was 0.7°C above normal for the summer capital.

Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 1.4°C against 1.0°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.

Jammu recorded a low of 11.9°C against 13.2°C on the previous night. It was 3.6°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.

Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 4.5°C (below normal by 0.8°C), Batote 4.1°C (below normal by 4.0°C), Katra 10.1°C (2.4°C below normal) and Bhadarwah 3.6°C (0.3°C below normal). Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 2.6°C and 1.5°C respectively.

Jammu: A doctor at GMC Emergency Block in Bakshi Nagar was yesterday  pounded by a attendant of a patient over some issue, after which several doctors in protest suspended their work at the hospital.

A CCTV clip of the violence against the doctor has gone viral on social media.

The police has also registered a case in this connection, after which the doctors stopped attending the patients at the GMC, the report said.

Neither the doctors nor the patient attendants have appeared before media to narrate what happened at the hospital, the report further said.

A Special Police Officer (SPO) was arrested for drug peddling in Doda district yesterday.

Continuing its drive to tighten the noose of drug peddlers under operation “SANJEEVANI”, Doda police has arrested one Special Police officer (SPO) for his involvement in Drug peddling in Doda town.

While giving detail Doda Police said that it was learnt through reliable sources that one Javed Ahmed Son of Mohd Shafi resident of Hamdanpur Doda used to keep drugs and charas in his possession and was selling the same to the youths in Doda Town.

“On receipt of this information, police swung into action and a Police party of DH Doda apprehended the said accused person and during search charas like substances was recovered from his possession. On enquiry, it was found that the accused person is serving as Special Police officer (SPO) and presently posted in DPL Doda,” police said.

“In this connection, case FIR No. 53/2023 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at police station Doda and investigation of the case has been started. Further interrogation of the said accused SPO is going on to ascertain his links/nexus with other drug peddlers in the area,” police said.

“Doda police has launched massive hunt and warned the drug smugglers/black traders to desist from this practice, else stern action would be taken which includes detention under PSA, attachment of moveable / immoveable property of the smugglers besides registration of FIR against them and anyone, be it Police officer/official or any Govt. employee, if found involved in such black trade, will not be spared,” police said.

Jammu: J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina yesterday released Dogri film Mouj Masti (War on Drugs) here.

According to a press note, today’s programme was organised by BJP OBC Morcha State President Sunil Prajapati and his team.

Ravinder Raina felicitated the whole production team and star cast of the film.

He said, “ We should promote our Dogri Culture at every platform and they have done a wonderful job by making Dogri film on a social cause. Teenagers must understand that the habit of drug abuse not only badly affects their body and mind, but also finishes their bright future. So we should strictly say no to drugs and save our lives as well as the lives of our loved ones by spreading awareness in our surroundings.”

Jammu: A woman injured and several cars got damaged after a huge tree fell in a parking in Kachi Chawni area of Jammu.

As per the report, The incident occurred when a tree  which was in the Kachi Chawni  parking area came down, crushing five cars, and hurt a woman under it.

After the incident the hurt woman was taken to hospital and was discharged later as she had minor injuries cause of tree fall.

“This incident happend about  one and half hour ago, a woman is hurt and she is okay cause she sustained minor wounds”, said, a local man.

“The tree fell and injured the woman and damaged several cars, the concerned dept has arrived here, they’re looking into matter”, he added.

“We are from JDA deparment and we just came here, we’re assessing the cause of incident”, A JDA employee said.

“My car is completely damaged in this incident, I used to park it here”, A man whose car damaged in incident said.

“I apprised the dept in the morning about the fallen tree and now they have come”, he added.

“I have to bear the loss of this incident as I don’t think the JDA will give me any compensation”, he alleged.

Jammu: The Jammu police yesterday arrested a husband and wife couple for their alleged links with one of apprentices of Amirtpal Singh from Kullian village of  R. Pura district of Jammu.

As per report, the incident came to the fore when police got inputs that Amritpal Singh might be hiding in the rented accomodation of the accused Amrik Singh and his wife Paramjit Kour.

After that SoG (Special Operations Group) and local police formed a team under supervision of SSP R.S Pura  and raided the rented house of accused and detained the duo for having links with Papalpreet Singh, a close apprentice of Amritpal Singh.

The police searched the rented accomodation of the culprit till 10pm and also seized mobile phones of accused and his owner to further probe the matter, the report said.

In Doda, the J&K police also cancelled the arms licenses of two bodyguards  accompanying Waris Punjab De chief and pro-Khalistan Sikh leader Amritpal Singh.

Jammu:
One person died and four injured in a suspected blast  at a Scrap factory in Bari Brahmana Kala Gate Industrial area in Jammu on Saturday.

According to report, a mysterious blast took place in a scrap factory in Kala Gate Industrial area of Bari Brahmana after which one person has died and four are hurt.

Soon, after the incident the police and a Fire Brigade team reached on the scene of incident and has launched a rescue operation.

Jammu: Doctors at the GMC Bakshi Nagar Hospital Jammu  suspended their work on Saturday after a fight erupted between a woman patient and a doctor over some issue.

As per report, the incident happened when a doctor allegedly slapped a woman patient at the GMC hospital, after which the woman registered a complaint at Bakshi Nagar police station, which escalated the matter.

After the incident the police reached at the scene of incident and probed the matter after which both the parties reached to a comprise, the report said.

But today the doctors has refrained from work when a CCTV camera footage of the incident came to fore, the report added.

The police is yet to find out who was beaten, the report said.

However, the patients have been left on their own as there are no doctors to attend them.

Jammu: A road mishap has occurred on Saturday in which a man allegedly left a woman hurt on the road after hitting her scooty in Jammu.

According to report, the mishap occurred when a speeding bike hit a scooty-borne girl and fled from the scene of accident without even attending the victim.

“I was driving in my lane and a matador was going ahead of me then a biker speedily came from wrong side and hit me”, The victim girl said.

‘I fell from the scooty. My hand and feet are hurt and he ran away after hitting me and didn’t even stopped to see my situation”, she added.

“He was on a splendor bike. My scooty is damaged cause of the hit, when I fell local people gathered around me and they gave his bike’s number”, he alleged.

“I was going to court. The whole incident has been captured by the CCTV cameras here”, she further added.

The Jammu Kashmir police have arrested a Sikh couple from the RS Pura area of Jammu for their alleged links with Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab de.

Over 150 people have been arrested in Punjab after the Government launched a major crackdown to detain Amritpal Singh, many of them under the arms act and NSA.

The Jammu Kashmir police said that Jammu residents identified as Amrik Singh and his wife namely Paramjit Kour were detained by Jammu Police for their links with Amritpal Singh.

After being arrested, the two were handed over to Punjab Police for their alleged links with Papalpreet Singh, a close aide of Amritpal Singh.
