Online Fraud with Vendor in Jammu, during Navratri

 


Jammu:
A roadside vendor was duped of Rs 22,500 by an unidentified man who posed as army person yesterday.

As per report, the fraud happened when the accused faking as army men ordered 50 glasses of juice from victim Moninder Singh, who runs a juice cart in Jammu and looted Rs 22,500 from his account, when the scammer made him to pay Rs 1 in his account to send the payment.

“A man claiming as army soldier called and said that a meeting of army personnel is going on and we want 50 glasses of juice without salt as there is Navratri going on”, Victim Moninder Singh told media.

“I told them we can’t deliver you juice as we don’t know your location and I asked him to send Id details as  to whom we will handover the order outside army camp in Satwari”, he said.

“After that I became busy in attending customers and sent my child to deliver the juice”, he added.

“When he reached outside army camp the fraudster told him to pay Rs 1 in his account to send the payment”, he said.

“But we told him to pay in cash as we only accept minimum online payment of just Rs 10-30”,  he alleged.

“He told my son to send Rs 1 on his given account to pay him the account ,but as he paid him Rs 1 all the money from our account disappeared”, he remarked.

“My kid wasn’t taking my call when I called him as he was in distress”, he said.

“I went outside the army camp and found him unconscious near chowk. I resuscitated him and he narrated me what happened with him”, he added.

“The scammers looted money from him and didn’t received juice order of Rs 2500”, he asserted.

“We also have conman’s Aadhaar card and we have registered a compliant at cyber cell and an FIR at Beli Charana police station here”, he said.

“The money from my account debited three times, first Rs 2500, then Rs 899 and Rs 5000 twice”, Victim’s son told media.
