Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced his visit to the remote Marwah area in Kishtwar district, where a massive fire on Monday destroyed over 70 houses, leaving numerous families homeless.The Chief Minister, deeply concerned by the scale of the disaster, is expected to meet with the affected families and oversee the ongoing relief operations.
The fire, which devastated the remote area, has prompted an urgent response from the government on the 2nd day after taking oath.
CM Abdullah’s visit aims to assess the situation firsthand and ensure that adequate relief is being provided, an official said.
Speaking ahead of his visit, Abdullah expressed his commitment to aiding the victims.
“I am traveling to Marwah to meet the families whose lives have been turned upside down by this tragic fire,” he posted on social media.
During his visit, Abdullah is expected to direct officials to expedite the rehabilitation process, ensuring food, shelter, and other necessities are promptly delivered.
