Jammu: Bal Sant Sahil Maharaj on Saturday held a press conference and demanded that local LG govt should made accessible to all devotees, free of charge the Aarti ritual  at the sacred of Mata Vaishno Devi Temple.

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra area of J&K’s Reasi district  is a center of attraction for  celebrities from the entertainment, sports, and political realms as well as locals and people from all over the world, where devotees make pilgrimages to seek blessings of the Holy site.

However, the special aarti performed at the Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan charges Rs 5100 from devotees to attend the live puja which has attracted flak from the locals, who are demanding that it should be free of cost and available to all.

Speaking to the media, Bal Sant Sahil Maharaj said: “Our today’s motive of organising this press conference is to demand and appeal the LG and Union govt to stop the custom of taking Rs 5100 ticket from devotees for participating in aarti performed at the holy shrine”.

“Why this is being practised in the temples of Sanatanis and not in the holy sites of other religions because others won’t let it happen and we also demand the same. We appeal to central and local govt to stop this practice at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and pilgrims who stand in queues all night should be allowed to sit in the aarti free of cost”, he demanded.
