Jammu police nabbed inter-zone heroin peddlers
Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has arrested two inter-zone heroin smugglers, recovered heroin (‘chitta’) worth rupees 65,000.00 approx. from their possession and on their disclosure seized cash amounting to rupees 31,000.00 from a hideout of chitta suppliers at infamous chitta hotspot of Balole Khad, Bari Brahmana.
The arrested heroin smugglers have been identified as Rayees Ahmed s/o Abdul Majid r/o Pulwama and Amir Ahmed Sheikh s/o Mohd. Yusuf Sheikh r/o Pulwama.

A case FIR No. 272/2023, u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation is underway.
The inter-zone heroin smugglers entered the infamous ‘chitta’ hotspot of Balole Khad by a private car Swift Dzire at odd hours during previous midnight presuming that the Police might be in fast asleep as weather conditions were also hostile , but quite contrary to the presumption of the heroin smugglers, Police was extra-vigilant and halted them immediately after they came out of the ‘chitta’ hotspot and got conducted their personal search in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class following proper procedure as laid down under NDPS Act, recovered heroin, arrested them, seized car used for heroin smuggling and also seized rupees thirty one thousand on their disclosure from hideout of heroin supplier.
The heroin smugglers have been arrested by police team comprising of SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma, SI Manohar Lal & PSI Vineet Rukwal under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additonal SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that a total of seventy seven (77) narcotic suppliers/smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past ten months and stringent legal action is being taken and hardcore heroin smugglers & suppliers are being detained under PITNDPSA / PSA.
