Candle march taken out over Arti Devi Murder case in Jammu

Jammu: The locals in Jammu took out a candle march yesterday evening, in protest against the murder of 32-year-old Arti Devi who was killed by husband in Nandpur in Ramgarh area of Samba on October 27.
According to the report, several local residents in Nandpur area of Samba yesterday late in the evening took out a candle march to express dissent against the murder of young married woman (Arti Devi) who was killed by her husband in his house in Nandpur and demanded justice for her.

“The condemnation of Arti Devi murder case will never be enough even if we do it for many times. I want to thank locals of Nandpur who took part in this candle march.
“Thousands of Arti Devi’s get killed everyday and this is a message to the society to rise up if such crimes happen in our society. There are schemes for the victims of such crime in social welfare department and I have talked to commission secretary to look into this case”. one of the participant of the candle march said.
“I also talked to SSP sir and he is following this case himself. The accused have been arrested under relevant sections of the law and I would like to approach Bar Association Jammu and Samba and also Chief Justice to grant harsh punishment to the culprits so that a person think thousand of times before committing crime of this degree”, he added.
“I want people to speak up against such atrocities which have forced police to nab the criminals and we will also approach administration to get capital punishment for the culprits”, he further said.
The incident happened on October 27 when Arti Devi, 32, a young housewife was mercilessly killed at her house and after completing investigation u/s 174 CrPC, Police had converted probe into a murder case u/s 302 IPC and prime accused husband was arrested by Samba police.
Pertinent to mention that Arti Devi was found dead in her in-laws house on October 27 after which the Samba police conducted her autopsy and when they found that the victim had marks on her neck, the police then launched a probe on suspicion and found that her husband has killed her, when the police investigated further they got success yesterday in nabbing the woman accused from Punjab for whom Gurdeep Singh killed his wife (Arti Devi) to marry her.
The probe of the murder case is still on and is being conducted by SHO Police Station Ramgarh Amit Sangra under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
