Jammu youth shot dead in abroad, family demands justice

Jammu:  A family of a youth from Jammu has demanded justice for their son, who was killed in Portugal country in Europe yesterday. The possible motive of the youth’s killing is yet to be known.

As per report, the matter came to fore when the youth’s family appeared before media and said that their son was gunned down by unidentified criminals in Portugal yesterday who went there around two years ago. The youth lost his parents when he was a kid and he was raised by his uncle and aunt.

The victim has been identified as Gurpreet Singh (25) alias Sahil r/o Gole Gujral in Talab Tillo of Jammu.

“Its been two years since he was in Portugal. We don’t know what happened”, said victim’s uncle to media.

“We were sitting in our house then I got call from elder brother-in-law from London that something bad has happened and I have to come home as soon as I can.

“When I reached my home I was informed that our boy has died. Then a boy from Portugal called us and told us about the incident in detail.

“Our son has been killed in firing. He was very talented and won many awards in hockey. He was famous in whole J&K.

“His family is poor. We appeal to Dr Jitendra Singh to bring back his dead body back home so we can do his final rites”, said  one of victim’s relative.
