Sharma’s arrest has prompted sharp responses from news media, government critics and many political leaders.

“After the declaration of SI result we know how our comrade was detained by police. The govt is behaving with Vinkal as if he is a criminal or a militant. I can’t imagine how police use to behave with commoners then.

“I want to pose a question on local authorities because they dragged Vinkal barefooted like a terrorist. The govt can’t do a recruitment in a proper way and the one they have did was involved in scams”, alleged Sahil Manhas, a JKPSI aspirant.

“How many aspirants will govt put in prison because we are in lakhs. We will not be silenced at any cost.

“We have done a big mistake by electing BJP in power as we’re feeling remorse choosing you as our representatives.

“The govt failed to take exams of JE in a fair manner and the candidates of Fire and Emergency are still demanding justice. So many cases of scams are pending.

“They just arrested Vinkal Sharma. Can they show any arrest warrant. We will see the govt in court now as we have so many evidences.

“We will show student power in the upcoming elections”, he asserted.
