Woman accuses husband of harassment in Jammu

Jammu: A distressed woman on Monday has accused her husband of harassment in Jammu. The woman has claimed that she has taken divorce from her husband but even after that her husband is continuously pestering her.

Interacting with media, the victim woman, Ms Santosh said, “I live in Bari Brahmana and yesterday my husband came to my room whom I have divorced two years ago.

“He came to my room and burgled my child’s document, mine and also some of my cash. He has perturbed me so much and use to tell me that he will commit suicide.

“He also use to visit my mother’s home to pester her and me where I was living. He comes after me wherever I stay.

“I’m so distressed by him I don’t know where to go with my child. Nobody helps me”.

“We married five years ago I haven’t stayed with him even for a day during our wedding but right now I’m staying with my family.

“My husband Bablu from Ramban  has also ransacked my silver bangles. I went to Bari Brahmana police station yesterday in the evening.

“But the police told me to visit them in the morning but when I went to them at dawn they told me to submit an application to them.

“The Bari Brahmana police has been apprising me to come later to the police station every time I visit them.

“I’m very worried what if my husband kills my son. I’m working in a factory and my  husband has threatened that he will kill the man who I would marry.

“He has stolen my ten thousand rupees, my documents related to divorce and some others.

“I am the sole bread winner of my family. He used to thrash me even in his house. He chase me wherever I go.

“I want police action against my husband and if anything happens to me and my family, friends he will be responsible for it”, said Ms Santosh, her voice strained with grief.
