Ladakh: 1 soldier died, three missing in avalanche

Ladakh: One Army soldier died while three others went missing after an avalanche struck them in Ladakh on 8th of October.
As per report, the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) and a contingent of 40 Indian army personnel on 8 October were doing routine training in Mount Kun in Ladakh after which an avalanche occurred in which four jawans got trapped.

After the incident, a rescue operation was launched for the trapped army soldiers and one dead body of the jawan been retrieved so far. However the rescue operation is on to search the other disappeared soldiers but due to poor weather conditions the rescue operation teams are facing difficulties to search them, the report said.
