Ruckus breaks out after Jammu youth wed Rohingya woman

Jammu: Ruckus broke out on Thursday when a Rohingya woman got domicile certificate of J&K UT in Kishtwar after getting married to a local man.

According to the report,  the incident came to light when Kishtwar police arrested three persons for issuing a domicile certificate to a Rohingya refugee woman in Kishtwar district of Jammu, who married a local youth there.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal has said that a Myanmar woman citizen has made a domicile certificate through her husband by misleading the local authorities on her identity.

The Kishtwar police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law in this case and a probe has been set into motion to ascertain how the woman prepared and got verified fraudulent documents to apply for the J&K domicile certificate.

The police will also take action against those involved in this matter.
