Youth dies, family accuses hospital of negligence in Jammu

Jammu: Members of family of a youth, a resident of Mahanpur of Kathua, created ruckus in a private hospital here over his death on Tuesday.
They alleged the hospital of negligence in treating their son.

The deceased is identified as Dinesh Kumar s/o Ashok Kumar of Kathua.
The mishap occurred in Mahanpur village of Kathua when a Matador turned turtle resulting in wounds to a youth and some others.
“The mishap was minor he was alright. When I brought my son to Trauma Centre Mahanpur he wasn’t given any treatment.
“The doctors in Mahanpur referred my son to Kathua without giving him first aid. The attending boys of Kathua hospital was not ready to take down my son from the stretcher because they said that the blood will stain their uniform.
“A cop helped us as he took my son inside the health facility. There are no doctors and staff here.
“What’s the use of ayushman card then. Should we make ayushman cards to come and die in GMC, Kathua.
“People are getting killed. We didn’t get any treatment in GMC Kathua. We appeal to people to avoid coming here.
“There are many who suffered minor wounds. There were only peons available in Mahanpur and they didn’t even gave us cotton to clean the blood of my son.
“They just referred us to Kathua. What is the usage of such medical facilities”, allegedly asked Mr Ashok Kumar, father of the deceased.
