Jammu Police intervenes in minor girl’s abortion case

Jammu: The Jammu police taking action against a minor girl’s abortion case has launched a probe for the victim yesterday.
As per report, the incident happened when a woman with her minor pregnant daughter approached Sri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital (SMGS) in Shalamar area of Jammu allegedly for abortion, but when she asked the hospital staff to conduct her daughter’s abortion then the hospital staff of SMGS hospital informed police and they stopped the girl to receive abortion from the hospital.

The victim’s mother was working as a house help in Panjtirthi area of Jammu. However, both the mother and daughter duo hails from Udhampur district of Jammu.
The Pacca Danga police station has registered a case in this matter under relevant sections of POSCO act and has launched a probe to nab the accused who allegedly raped the victim and made her pregnant, the report said.
The victim girl has been sent to Child Welfare committee for counselling.
