Army Jawan from Jammu commits suicide, family alleges murder

Jammu: 
The family of an Indian army Jawan in Akhnoor’s Jourian village in Jammu has alleged that their son who committed suicide in his army unit’s quarters in West Bengal on 15 September was pestered by the army colonel’s wife due to which he took this extreme step.

The family has said that the deceased identified as Amit Kumar Chaudhary, who was a solider in the army was doing doing duty of a Buddy (Sahayak) in the absence of the colonel’s official attached buddy, which he didn’t wanted to do.

The victim’s family has alleged that officer’s wife has harassed their son to that extent that he ended his life. They have also claimed that the officer’s wife used to harassed their son when he was working as a Buddy (Sahayak) in the colonel’s quarter in West Bengal.

The family members have demanded justice and a fair probe into the matter from the local and union govt.
