               Woman held for abetment to suicide in Jammu

Jammu: A woman was arrested yesterday for allegedly abetment to suicide of another woman in Samba.
According to police sources, the matter came to fore when a case of a mysterious death of one woman namely Rani Devi was registered at Ghagwal police station on 13 August.

After the incident, the police conducted the autopsy of the deceased woman and it came to fore in post-mortem report that the victim woman consumed some poisonous substance to end her life, after which Ghagwal police registered an FIR and nabbed the husband of the deceased woman for abetment of suicide.
When police further investigated the case they also found the involvement of another woman and apprehended her.
The deceased woman was identified as Rani Devi (42) of Harsath, Ghagwal of Samba. While her arrested husband who encouraged her to commit suicide was identified as Surinder Singh s/o Kartar Singh r/o Harsath tehsil Ghagwal of Samba.
A case FIR under sections 306 IPC was registered at Ghagwal police station against the victim’s husband and he was nabbed along with a woman.
The case is being probed by SI Uttam Chand & SHO Police Station Ghagwal Inspr Bharat Bhushan under the supervision of Deputy SP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
