Operation Khanda Concluded: Army eliminated three terrorists, recovered war-like stores in Baramulla

Baramulla: The operation Khanda jointly launched by the Indian army, J&K police and intelligence agencies in Hathlanga village of Uri of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district successfully concluded this evening by eliminating three foreign terrorists that infiltrated from Pakistan into this side of the Indian border in Baramulla.
The encounter began this morning when the security forces got inputs of the concealed terrorists in the woods of Hathlanga village, after which Indian army, J&K Police and intelligence agencies launched operation Khanda against the terrorists and an encounter initiated.

A fierce gun fight started which culminated in the killing of three terrorists eventually by the security forces and they retrieved their bodies from the woods. However, when the army gunned down the third terrorist a Pak post in the surroundings started firing from across the border to stop the army to retrieve the body of the third killed terrorist.
But in the culmination of operation Khanda the security forces recovered war-stores from the possession of killed terrorists and Pak currency notes.
“Joint operation was launched today morning in Uri Sector. Contact established & firefight ensued. 03xTerrorists eliminated. 02xAK Rifles, 01xPistol, 07xHand Grenades, 01xIED and other war like stores along with Pak Currency Notes recovered .Joint operation over”, Chinar Corps said on X.
On Wednesday, Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonack, and deputy superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat laid their lives making the surpeme sacrifice for the country against the terrorists in Gadole area of Kokernag of south Kashmirâs Anantnag district.
On Tuesday, a Rifle man Ravi Kumar of Kishtwar district and an Indian army female dog namely Kent of Labrador breed (6) also laid their lives making the ultimate sacrifice for the country in Narla area of Kalakote in Rajouri district.
However, the search operation is still going on in Kokernag to locate the terrorists there.
Today, in the morning a video was shared online by the Indian army in which they claimed that they have destroyed the hideout of the terrorists in Gadole woods of Kokernag. However, since Wednesday the security forces are using drones for vigilance and sophisticated weapons to locate the terrorists hiding in the forest.
The Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi himself visited the Godole forests in Kokernag and conducted a review of the ongoing operation in the area this evening as the operation intensified to gun down the terrorists hiding in the woods as they are the killers of Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonack, and deputy superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat.
