Jammu: Girl dies from Hornet sting, Family alleges hospital negligence

Jammu: A very strange incident has come to fore in which a minor girl died of a Hornet attack in Udhampur district of Jammu on Tuesday. The family has alleged that the victim died due to hospital’s negligence.
According to the report, the incident occurred around 7am at Khu Nala area of Udhampur district when a 16-year-old girl was going to her school and when she reached on the road she was attacked by a swarm of hornets, following which she suffered grave injuries.

After the incident, the villagers of the village rushed her to GMC Udhampur where she succumbed to her injuries at 11pm, when she could not get medical attention as alleged by the girl’s family members.
The deceased girl has been identified as Sindhu r/o district Udhampur.
“I sent my daughter at 5am to the school as it is in Battal far away from our village because the school’s teachers use to beat our kids on reaching late.
“When my daughter reached on the road she was attacked by a swarm of hornets then villagers rushed her to the hospital and I was also informed.
“The doctors didn’t attended my daughter and only gave her one glucose bottle and injections but she still struggled in pain.
“The doctors were just telling us to take her from one ward to another ward in hospital”, said a relative of the deceased girl, wailing.
“The girl was assaulted by a swarm of hornets and she was evacuated by the villagers and brought to GMC Udhampur.
“We found no staff in the hospital”, another relative of the victim said.
