Locals express over electricity pole in Jammu

Jammu: Several locals in Jammu on Monday has expressed concern over a bent electricity pole in their ward from which electric wires are hanging posing serious risk to locals. High voltage overhead transmission wires running over the houses are posing serious threats to the locals due to lack of maintenance.
“The PDD department didn’t done footing they came and installed the electric pole here.

“When the electric pole leaned the PDD department employees came and installed the electric pole some meters away.
“The electric wires are now touching the residences of people. A widow woman’s electricity connection remained disconnected for three days in our ward when her home’s smart meter got damaged in blaze.
“The PDD department is giving us electricity at higher rates but they should also provide us best services”, one of the ward members said.
“We have sent pictures of this bent electric pole many times to Jammu Mayor Rajinder Sharma who is also the corporator of this ward but no action was taken.
“The high tension wires are running over the residences of people”, another ward member said.
“The electric pole here are very old and needed maintenance”, a ward member added.
