J&K: Terrorist module busted by police
The Baramulla police on Thursday busted a terrorist module in Uri area of Kashmir’s Baramulla district and arrested three terror associates of LeT outfit recovering, arms and ammunition from their possession.
As per sources, joint forces of Baramulla Police & Army’s 16 SIKHLI during joint patrolling & area domination at Churunda Uri noticed one suspected person, who was roaming in the area, who tried to flee while noticing patrolling party was apprehended tactfully.
During his personal search two grenades were recovered from him and he was taken into custody immediately who was later on identified as Showkat Ali Awan S/O Abdul Karim Awan R/O Churunda Uri.
During further questioning he revealed the names of his accomplices Ahmad Din S/O Shukur Din R/O Churunda Uri & Mohammad Sadeeq Khatana S/O Umer Din R/O Churunda, who were questioned and upon their disclosure 2 Grenades, 1 Chinese Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine & 4 live rounds were recovered from them by the police.
*It is pertinent to mention here that the accuseds are involved in cross border smuggling of arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan based terror handlers and its further distribution to LeT terrorists for carrying out terror activities.
Case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigations was taken up in the matter.
