Family claims murder of their daughter over dowry in Jammu

Jammu: A family of Jammu today alleged that their daughter was murdered by her in-laws over the issue of dowry.
In this connection, the vexed family family members vent out their anger in the media, urging the police to ensure the culprits involved in the alleged murder of their daughter are brought to book.

The deceased has been identified as Priya Chib.
“She was my sister. I was outside then my brother called me and said that my sister has died.
“When I came here my sister’s family started thrashing me. My sister and her husband were cordial with each other but her father-in-law used to pester her.
“My sister’s father-in-law used to torcher her everyday. He has killed her as what can a six-months old baby can do,” said, brother of the deceased woman.
“They hanged my daughter then informed us”, added, Mother of the victim woman, weeping.
“She came to our house two days ago and was very well”, a relative of the victim said.
“Its been 5-6 since her wedding she faced domestic violence by her in-laws”, brother of the victim woman alleged.
“We have given them dowry worth of lakhs of rupees and look what they have done with our daughter”, another relative of the deceased woman claimed.
“Priya’s husband don’t do any work and is idle”, he added.
“Her husband should also meet the same fate like our daughter”, he asserted.
“Our daughter was very bright. The old man has killed her”, family members alleged.
“We just want justice and her husband should be hanged”, family members told media.
