Jammu: Youths feared dead after drowning in river

Jammu:
Two youths are feared dead due to drowning while they went in river Chenab to give firewood for a deceased person in Khellani village of Jammu’s Doda district on Thursday.

According to sources, the incident happened around 12-12:30pm when two youngsters both residents of Doda  were swept away by the strong water currents while they were carrying firewood across the other end of river Chenab bank to Durga Nagar cremation in Khellani village of Doda.

After the incident, the local police rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation, however there has been no trace of the two youth when this report was filed.

The victims have been identified as Rohit Rana, son of Ramesh Singh and Sunil Kumar, son of Ram Raj, both residents of Durga Nagar, Khellani  village of Doda district.
