Damaged bridge fuel worries in Jammu locals

Jammu: In the light of recent incident of Tarnah bridge damaging amid heavy rains in Hiranagar area of Kathua where the bridge is situated joining the Kathua area to main city Jammu. However, locals have expressed concern regarding the lack of a proper road to travel to Jammu city in wake of the damaged Tarnah bridge which used to minimize travel time between Kathua and Jammu city and vice-versa only to 1-5-2 hours.

Speaking to JK Media, a local man, said, “I have taken out my auto two times which got stuck here. I was heading towards Kathua with patients.

“The govt is so useless this route can be constructed well but they are ignoring it. We pay road tax Rs 3500 annually and other taxes also still we’re suffering.

“My ailing patient is also suffering because of this route. I gave my auto to somebody to take it across this river route.

“Everybody is facing predicaments here and govt is in slumber. If somebody’s vehicle gets  stuck here there are tractors here for that but they take money to help.

“This is the plight of  regime”, he added.

“We are going to Jammu to our office and have left our  motorbike across the river. We are facing inconvenience”, another man said.
