Social organisation in Jammu cremated unknown person

Jammu:
Many homeless die on the roadside. As no one comes forward to claim their bodies or perform their last rites, thus displaying humanity Samba Social Club a social organisation and Samba police has taken upon themselves the task of performing the last rites of an unclaimed body in Jammu.

According to the report, a man who died due to electric shock in Chak Dayala area of Samba some 3-4 days ago was cremated by Samba police with support of Samba social club today, who was unclaimed by anyone.

After the incident the man was taken to District Hospital Samba for autopsy and after its completion his body was handed over to Samba police, who tried hard to find the family members of the victim, but when nobody  came forward to claim the deceased they held his final rites with support of Samba social club.

The Samba social club has also conducted blood donation camps and has  cremated several unknown deceased people earlier, the report said.
