Jammu: Eye flu is rising at an alarming rate. The masses in Jammu are being infected with conjunctivitis. However this can be prevented by following precautions prescribed by the eye specialists of our health facilities in J&K.
Talking to the media, an eye-specialist of CHC Katra, Mr Kuldeep Kumar, said,” The eye flu spreads in this weather and I think it is spreading due to the tourists who are coming here.

“We have to avoid going in crowd and if one is going then a person should wear sunglasses to protect themselves from being affected by this.
“We should wash our hands and face properly when we come back to our house from outside. Consider keeping a hand sanitizer with you incase water is not available.
“People avoid touching their eyes frequently to prevent ourselves from Conjunctivitis.
“It’s symptoms that it makes our eyes red, itching, and a puss like discharge from the eyes will flow, swelling.
“I have been seeing these cases from past 10 days and twenty out of 30 patients that visit here everyday I have seen affected with this infection.
“People can also lose their vision. I recommend people not take any random eye-drop because there are chances they can lose their eye sight.
“I advise people to take doctor’s recommendation and only buy doctor recommended medicines.
“The school going children are visiting me frequently”, he said.
