Locals put life at risk, seen crossing river in Jammu

Jammu: With monsoon fury affecting a large part of the population across the Jammu city, a video of villagers sufferings are being widely shared on social media. One such clip that is doing the rounds on social showed villagers including men, women, men, in a human chain swimming across the river with strong currents in neck deep water because their village Beliyaan in Sumb block of Samba district is bereft of roads.
The villagers have to cross the river in the dangerous way to go their works as it has no roads, the report said.

The villager have been demanding from a long time construction of bridges from the local authorities over the river so that they can stop jeopardising their lives, the report added.
