Jammu: Govt disconnects electricity connection over pending bills

Jammu: The Power Development Corporation in Rajouri on Tuesday disconnected  several  electricity connections of locals for not paying pending electricity dues.

As per report, the employees of power department in a drive disconnected electricity connections of defaulters in Aquaf market of Rajouri due to non-payment of bills.

“I want to apprise Power department to give some time to electricity consumers so they can pay their bills.

“I appeal to locals in Rajouri to pay their power dues timely and the PDD employees have told me that the domestic consumers can pay their dues in installments”, said, Ward corporator, Mr Sanjay Sharma.

“We have requested to our consumers several times to submit their electricity bills. Our whole team went to shopkeepers, homes to cut connections.

“The govt has waved off their interest and still people are not paying their dues. We will register FIRs against people who will burgle electricity.

“Our principal session judge has directed us to refer the defaluters cases in court so that they can be legally dealt.

“The LG sir is very strict in this case and the administration has withheld our department’s officials  salary. The consumers should keep this in mind so that nobody face any  trouble”, A PDD official said.
