Jammu: Major Infiltration bid foiled by Army, terrorist killed & arms recovered

Jammu: The Indian army has foiled a major infiltration bid of terrorists along the Line of Control in the Naushera Sector of Rajouri in a massive operation on Monday, killing one and injuring another.

As per sources,  on 10 July at midnight alert ambushes of Indian army deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera observed suspicious movement of a group of terrorists moving suspiciously from across the Line of Control towards the Indian side.

After which the vigilant troops of Indian army kept the movement of the infiltrators under constant observation, and when they reached nearly 300 meters near Line of Control they were challenged and a firefight ensued.

In the ensuing fire, one terrorist was seen falling to the side, while two others injured escaped in the woods, after which a massive search operation was launched, however taking benefit of bad weather the terrorist concealed themselves in the Nowshera forests.

In a deliberate and massive search operation lasting over two days and two nights, the security forces recovered body of one terrorist, who was killed, along with weapon and war like stores.

During further search operations into the jungle, the drag marks on ground were observed leading towards the line of control by the army, hinting that the hurt terrorist taking advantage of the forest foliage managed to move back across the Line of Control.

The army recovered 1 AK 47 Rifle, 3 AK Magazines with 175 Rounds, one 9 mm Pistol, two Magazines with 15 Rounds, 4 Hand Grenades, communication equipment, large quantity of eatables and clothing for sustenance.

The army’s quick action failed a major infiltration attempt and saved the tranquility of J&K from terrorist attacks.
