Tourists trapped in Ladakh rescued by Police

Nine foreign tourists among thirteen trapped in a snow storm in Lingshed trek in Ladakh’s Zanskar district have been rescued by police, who were stranded there yesterday.

They  have been moved to safer places by Zanskar police aid.

According to the report, on receiving information about the stranded trekkers in  Lingshed village of Zanskar, the Zanskar police party swung into action and  rescued the tourists.

There were seven tourists of Korean nationality and two were French citizens, who were saved by the Zanskar police and four local guides in the rescue operation.

They have been taken to a local health facility there for first aid.
