Woman killed in Jammu Road accident, Family demands justice

Jammu: Sorrow enveloped the family members of late Lalita Devi in Rohi Morh near Indra Nagar of Jammu, when she passed away in a road mishap in Rohi Morh late night on June 30. However, the siblings of the victim has demanded justice for the deceased from the local authorities & have asked police to soon nab the absconding accused.
Lalita Devi lost her life when she was returning after attending a Shreemad Bhagwat Saptah and met with an accident at Rohi Morh, when a speeding car hit her vehicle in which she was travelling with five other women, who are seriously injured and are being treated at GMC Jammu.

“We demand justice and nothing else. We want the accused to be arrested and probed.
She was our sole earner.

“I called my mother but she didn’t attend it, I was informed in the night about the accident. We appeal govt to deliver justice to my mother”, Victim’s Daughter said.
“We were together then we crossed the road and when we were about to enter our street then a drunk man came.
“He was too drunk & lost control on the wheels, first he hit stones lying on the road then he hit us.
“A woman was with her he went ahead after hitting us. All the women went unconscious after the mishap.
“I screamed for help the accused halted his car and looked backed at us but didn’t came for help then a biker came & I told him to follow this man & report to police.
“We tried calling police but nothing happened I also told the motorcyclist to inform police don’t know whether he did or not.
“We should get justice as he has wounded 6 people. Some Sikh men came to help my mother’s sister, she was badly hurt her brain was strewn on the road”, Deceased’s relative said.
“My mother should get justice and govt should listen to us. My uncles and ward members had gone there”, Deceased’s son said.
