Jammu:  Vice-president District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu & RTI activist, Balvinder Singh yesterday has expressed anger allegedly over the use of “Khalistani” word against a Sikh Ward corporator, during the General House Meeting of the Urban Local body in Jammu.

“I have been getting calls when a BJP Ward corporator addressed a Sikh corporator as ‘Khalistani’, I was not able to react on this due to unavailability of internet.

“When the house meeting of Urban local body was going on Yudhveer Singh asked his queries as people have the right to ask questions to govt and vice-versa.

“He asked our honourable Mayor Rajinder Sharma that whenever we present you a resolution you reject it and don’t pay heed to it.

“This spoils the image of our PM and our country as this doesn’t amount to any defamation”, Mr Balwinder Singh said.

“It’s not an unparliamentary language. I consider Prof Yudhveer Singh a very competent person he never disrespected anyone in the house.

“On hearing these statements of Prof Yudhveer Singh a BJP corporator Yashpal Sharma said that he is speaking Khalistani tongue, he should leave the house.

“Mr Yashpal Sharma should visit states of India to see the sacrifices of Sikhs being less in numbers there.

“I want to say that he should apologise to Mr Yudhveer Singh for calling him a Khalistani cause after 2014 they are telling people who’re nationalist or not.

“I request senior party members to take action against this corporator and he should be suspended from the house.

“Because our religious feelings get hurt whenever boys from our community underperform or do something they’re branded as Khalistanis.

“Why people forget that Sikhs  always come to the  front, whenever a calamity has occurred in the country.

“During the corona pandemic Sikhs were at the forefront lending their hands.

“He should be expelled from the house and should give unconditional apology to the Sikh community or else we will stage protests”, he asserted.
