Youth who qualified IAS welcomed home with dhol beats in Jammu

Jammu: After cracking the prestigious UPSC exam Nitin Singh was welcomed home with dhol beats and a cheering crowd on Saturday. With dhol beats and family, friends and natives lined in his home with flowers. The homecoming ceremony was organized by his family and locals.

Nitin Singh, son of Manohar Singh, resident of Kathua has secured 32nd rank in recent UPSC exam.

Interacting with media, he said, “From several years I was preparing for UPSC and I also gave JKAS, both these services give us chance to serve public”.

“The JKAS result was declared and I was preparing in Srinagar when the IAS result was announced”, he said.

“I feel grateful to public that we have to deliver to the masses. It’s one of the most difficult exam”, he added.

“Most intelligent people were competing amongst us, both platforms gave us similar pedestal, but UPSC provides national space to serve”, he remarked.

“I don’t think I deserve this much welcome the local people have given me, I think I have more responsibility towards them now”, he asserted.
