Meet first woman of Jammu’s this region who cracked Civil services

Jammu: Iram Choudhary has become the first woman to pass the UPSC exam and will be the first woman IAS officer, who has qualified the much coveted IAS exam recently.

She is from Darhal area of Rajouri who has recently cracked the famed exam by securing 852 rank in the paper.

Talking to the media, Iram’s father, Mr Nisar Choudhary, said, “I shifted to Jammu 2-3 years ago for my kids education. My daughter has done MBBS from GMC”.

“In 2019-20, she did an internship after that she changed her mind that she don’t want to become a doctor and wanted to pursue UPSC given a chance”, he said.

“I agreed and told her to give it a try, she went to Delhi rented a room and started preparing for  UPSC”, he added.

“In the first year she couldn’t qualified the exam but in the second attempt she cracked it. We and everyone is happy, she is the first woman who qualified IAS from Rajouri’s Darhal”, he claimed.

“My daughter told me that  she passed the exam I felt so glad. We assented to her desire as we know how assiduous she is”, Mrs Shamima Iram’s mother said.

“After doing MBBS she told us that she don’t want to do PG and wanted to prepare for IAS, Iram’s father supported her alot”, she asserted.

“My daughter is so sedulous she was very keen for IAS, she went to Delhi rented a room and studied all by herself”, he said.

“We’re so glad my elder sister informed me that she cracked the exam and all of us were in tears”, Huma Lodhi Iram’s younger sister said.

“It’s an unpredictable exam as no one know they will pass it or not. I have appeared for JKAS mains and its result is awaited, I hope for the best”, she said.

“She inspired me to study for this, Iram is so labourious as people choose easy subjects but she selected her medical stream for exam”, she remarked.
