GMC Jammu’s ‘The Kerala Story’ episode, rusticated several students

Jammu: The Kerala Story film episode happened at the GMC Boys hostel situated in Jammu’s Bakshi Nagar area has rusticated several MBBS students of its college for two months, who were found indulged in the fracas over the film on 14th May, which left five students wounded.
The GMC authorities taking strict action today against their 10 students rusticated them for a period of 2 months, for their involvement in the scuffle between two groups that resulted in injuring five student.
Sharing details about the incident, Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal and Dean of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, said, “When I got to know that the students have been injured I made sure that they should be in Emergency ward, as their well being is our priority”.

“I took stock of the emergency ward five students were admitted there they got treatment”, she said.

“I went to the boys hostel and stayed with the students till 5am. We got to know that an outsider a ‘medico’ has been found indulged in this incident and an FIR has been registered against him timely”, she added.
“There are some students which I have personally marked who are fight-mongers. The students who’re much hurt they’re from Bhaderwah”, she remarked.
“There will be disciplinary action against the miscreant students because our institution imparts academic and professional studies and has no scope for such activities, which derail students from their path”, she further said.
“All the faculty members of GMC including me have always tried to interact with each student of the college, so it is not difficult to find out the accused students”, she claimed.
The College’s disciplinary action committee has rusticated ten students involved in the incident for two months and has been asked to submit their detailed report within a week.
