“Azaadi, Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised”: GMC Jammu Students

Jammu: Several Medical students of Government Medical College Bakshi Nagar in Jammu yesterday alleged that during the scuffle between the students in the hostel premises over the ‘The Kerala Story’ , scores of Hindu students were  thrashed and slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, ‘Azaadi’ were shouted.

“The matter initiated with a Hindu boy who shared a  story ‘The Kerala Story’ must watch, after that his batchmates started threatening him saying, we will kill you and your family”, one of the agitating GMC students allegedly said.

“He said it is my ideology and let us solve this issue by discussion, then the boys planned and when he came to the hostel they thrashed him outside the hostel”, he said.

“When his seniors saw him getting beaten they came to inquire and they were also pounded by them, then some more students joined saying this is the time”, he said.

“Then hundreds gathered and pounded 5-6 boys the whole scene was looking like a mob lynching”, he alleged.

“A senior was thrashed by a junior he was hit by a bottle, they had rods, iron bracelets with them, but said they’re beaten”, he added.

“They were yelling Pakistan zindabad, Azadi when we celebrate our festivals they mock us. Mam told us she will cooperate, but they’re pestering us”, he further said.

“This is the city of Dogras and we’re being pounded should we also migrate from Jammu, we feel unsafe here”, he questioned.

“They’re openly thrashing us we have temples here and  they specially surveil those students who visit temples, later they go to their rooms and pester them”, he accused.

“They target us we have filed a police complaint”, another student said.

“Normally, no one should not be  troubled by this film if it’s a good film, he texted it’s a good must watch  film and they abused him, we have screen shots of texts”, one of the student said.

“They called him and asked where are you. When he went to his room in the hostel they came and pounded him”, he further said.

“Then they started playing victim card”, he remarked.

“This hostel has a history of conversion as many of our seniors have been converted, one of our seniors Sudikshan was converted then there is boy he told us that he is  being persuaded to convert”,  a student said.
