Notorious smuggler arrested by police in Jammu

Jammu: Maintaining their surgical strike against smugglers, the Jammu police has arrested a notorious drug smuggler on Tuesday with heroin worth of Rs 25,000 from his possession in Samba.

According to the report, after getting inputs from their reliable sources, the Bari Brahmana police’s NDPS team laid a naka in Bari Brahmana and arrested a drug peddler and recovered Heroin worth of Rs 25,000 from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Rakesh Singh s/o Baldev Singh r/o Purkhoo camp of Domana, Jammu.

The arrest was made by the Samba District NDPS team comprising of Inspector Sumit Sharma, SHO Bari Brahmana, SDPO Rahul Nagar under the overall supervision Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act against the culprit in Bari Brahmana police station.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh has shared a data that in three and half months in Samba district the police has arrested 36 drug smugglers and continuously miscreant elements are also being nabbed by the police.
