Major terror incident averted as IED recovered in J&K

Jammu: Police on Sunday said they averted a major terror incident by recovering an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing about 5-6 kilograms and apprehended a terrorist associate in Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The terror associated has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmed Wani r/o Arigam village of Budgam in Kashmir.

“Pulwama Police averted a major tragedy by apprehending a terror associate Ishfaq Ahmed Wani R/O Arigam Pulwama and recovering an IED (approx 5-6Kgs) on his disclosure. Case registered and investigation started”, Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

After the recovery of the IED by the police a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was summoned on the spot to defused the IED.
