After the mishap a rescue operation was launched by the locals and the authorities to save the victims.

Later, Army rescue teams also reached at the crash scene and taking cognizance of the victims airlifted the critically hurt pilot and the technician, but sadly the latter succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.

As per army inputs, the pilots had reported a technical fault to the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) and proceeded for a precautionary landing. Due to the undulating ground, undergrowth and unprepared landing area, the helicopter apparently made a hard landing.
