Jammu: Army helicopter crashes, some injured

Jammu:
An Indian Army chopper on Thursday crashed in Marwah of Kishtwar District of Jammu, in which two pilots and a technician suffered minor wounds, who were on board.

As per report, An Army ALH Dhruv Helicopter crashed in Kishtwar and fell on the bank of Chenab river, following which pilots and a army technician on board  suffered injuries.

After the incident a rescue operation was launched by the locals and the authorities to save the victims.

Meanwhile army’s official statement has said that  around 11:15am today an Army Aviation ALH Dhruv helicopter on an operational mission made a precautionary landing on the banks of Marua river in the Kishtwar region of Jammu.

As per army inputs, the pilots had reported a technical fault to the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) and proceeded for a precautionary landing. Due to the undulating ground, undergrowth and unprepared landing area, the helicopter apparently made a hard landing.

After which immediate rescue operations were launched and Army rescue teams reached the site.

Two pilots and a technician were on board. All three injured personnel have been evacuated to Command Hospital, Udhampur.

A probe has been initiated into the matter while further details are being ascertained.
