Locals accuse Woman of disrespecting ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ in Jammu

Jammu: A sacrilege incident has come to light from Rani Talab Gurudwara situated in Digiana of Jammu, in which a woman allegedly has been captured on CCTV cameras entering the Gurudwara and disrespectfully removing the plain white sheets on Guru Granth Sahib and dropping it with irreverence yesterday.

“This is  a very disgraceful incident happened at Rani Talab Gurudwara in the evening. It has been recorded in the CCTV cameras installed over there”, a native man said.

“Around 2:30pm a woman wearing  a saree entered the Gurudwara Sahib and took off the “Rumala Sahib” (cloth around the holy book) from the Guru Granth Sahib”, he alleged.

“From Punjab state, we keeping hearing about such incidents and now such  acts are being  done here such anti-social elements want to disturb society”, he claimed.

“These want communities here to fight with  each other, but Guru Granth Sahib has told us to respect all religion and those who don’t they’re not humans”, he said.

“I appeal to local authorities to identify that woman and put her behind bars”, he demanded.

“Supreme Court has identified “Guru Granth Sahib” as a living ‘Guru’ and on this, she should be booked under section 302 and should be punished harshly”, he added.

“I appeal to devotees of Gurudwara to be alert so that such acts can’t take place”, he said.
