Jammu reports its First coronavirus Death

Jammu:
Jammu reported the first death due to COVID-19 of 2023, as a six months kid, with pneumonia complications has passed away in Dhangri area of Rajouri yesterday.

According to report, The kid was suffering from pneumonia and was receiving treatment at    Sri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital Jammu.

Later, the kid’s family conducted a RTPCR test of their infant and when the report came it showed the infant covid positive.

In J&K, there are 98 new corona cases which have been reported. There are 258 active cases which have been found in 18 districts of the UT, the report said.

There are 14 covid cases in Jammu region and 12 in Srinagar. Till now there are 3116 people whose covid testing have been done, the report added.

Baramulla-2, Bandipora-2, Budgam-7, Pulwama-3 and Udhampur, Rajouri, Doda, Poonch all have 1 covid cases while Samba and Ramban have 3 and 4 active cases.

However, Kishtwar is still now covid free as there is not a single case which has come from the district till now.

Yesterday, District Commissioner Kishtwar held a meeting and took an overview of the corona situation in their region, the report said.
