Thieves steals cash, gold worth lakhs from officer’s house in Jammu

Jammu: Some thieves stole cash, gold worth lakhs from house of retired DSP police officer’s house situated in Sanji Morh in Chack Nathal village in Kathua yesterday.

According to report, The suspects entered the house of the officer when they went to Gurudwara to meet their Guru in Sanji Morh and then some burglars  gained entry into the house and stole 20 carats of gold worth lakhs,  silver anklets, Rs 49,500 cash and antique currency of Rs 51 from their house.

“My family and I went  to meet our Guruji in Gurudwara to bid him goodbye as he has to leave tomorrow and I’m security in charge of our Guru ji”, said, Mr Sagar Chand.

“We returned back and saw our main locked  as it is, but when my daughter went inside we find all the locks of door and our almirahs broken”, he said.

“The thieves have stolen 20 tola gold worth lakhs, Rs 49,500, silver anklets and Rs 51 antique coins which we kept in our almirah”, he added.

“This is unfortunate that constantly thefts are happening here”, a local leader said.

“I was attending a religious feast when I was informed that our retired DSP sir house has been ransacked”, he further said.

“They broke all the thieves and stole their valuables worth lakhs. This is our and thefts are not stopping here”, he added.

“I called Sub inspector and DSP Mehreen and apprised them the situation then they came here”, he remarked.

“We have also submitted CCTV footages of the house to SSP Mehreen Kathua”, he said.
