Police arrested inter-state drug smugglers in Jammu

Jammu: Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police yesterday recovered  50 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Rajbagh in Kathua and  arrested two drug peddlers.

As per report , The Rajbagh police received inputs through reliable sources that two persons namely  Shonki S/o Feroz Din of Mehma Pandori, Amritsar and Makhan Din S/o Shaiya of Kateeba Batala Gurdaspur in Punjab are indulged in illegal smuggling of Heroin  and proceeding from Lakhanpur towards Jammu in a vehicle Alto Car bearing Reg. No. PB02EL-6008.                             Watch Video

Acting swiftly a Police team led by SHO Rajbagh Tariq Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Pankaj Soodan laid a naka at National highway Rajbagh and intercepted the said vehicle and on thorough checking approximately 30 grams of Heroin like narcotics was recovered from the possession of the accused persons.

After that the police  recovered the heroin approx. 50 grams and also  seized their vehicle on the spot.

In this a case an FIR No. 62/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 under NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
